So, once again, Fox news screwed us.
They made everyone believe that a flip of the House and Senate was a given, as it usually is in a midterm. They spent months arrogantly talking about how inevitable it was, that people would be so outraged that they would fill the voting booths like never before…and guess what… they were wrong.
Again.
That means no one from the right went out and voted.
The 30 seat majority we were “promised” may be 5 or less. ..and that’s if we take the House at all.
The senate is a toss up, and it shouldn’t have been.
We MUST stop letting Infotainment like Cnn, Fox, MSNBC and others affect our decision making, and our responsibility to be, and to make the changes we require of our government.
This should also be seen as a wakeup call for both political parties….but it won’t be.
Democrats will continue to try to move their party to the left, and Republicans will continue to try to move their party to the right. Unfortunately, most of us will remain exactly where we are now…in the center.
Alone, alienated and unaffiliated.
Neither party recognizes that people agree on quite a lot and don’t need to see the other party lose in order to win. But the news, the pundits, and the political parties MUST see “the other side” lose in order to claim victory.
The problem is when half the country loses, the whole country loses. No matter which side wins, half of us are unhappy. When we used to have real leaders, they would negotiate, they would compromise, they would debate, and they would settle for solutions that everyone can live with. Back then we would accept that we can’t all “win”, and when one of us does, someone loses, and demands change, or revenge, or worse. They would also remind us that everyone has a right to their own opinions and ideas, and be strong enough to call out those who don’t accept this, in public, even when it hurt, or was dangerous to their own political careers.
Then the president always goes on tv and says, Lets “come together” or let’s start to “heal”…
Well, why don’t we stop injuring each other and stop believing that any of us have the right to tell anyone else what to think, how to feel, or how to live?
Until we begin to accept that no one can “have it their own way”, because everyone feels differently, and certainly has a right to, we will NEVER be able to make progress and move forward TOGETHER.

It’s crazy how extreme the news outlets have become with their conquests for the most eyeballs in Primetime, especially with Election Night results coverage.
We are being sold this “all or nothing” mentality by both extremes on the spectrum and in all reality, a lot of us are in the center or center-right philos politically. So really, Election night coverage has turned into complete theatrical BS for the sake of ratings.
Maybe it works for them? hmm. YMMV
I couldn’t agree more… most of us are right in the middle, but in this “choose a team” world we are almost completely unrepresented. Thanks so much for commenting and fostering the discussion.
